Re: [Elecraft] K2 speaker/headphones switching.

  Chris,

In all probability, the little plastic lever which operates the switch
inside the headphone jack has broken. It usually fails with no speaker,
but it can fail either way.
It is a bit of a pain, but you can shut off the speaker by plugging an
empty jack into the external speaker jack on the back.

To replace the headphone jack, remove the Control Board and the Front
panel assembly and the jack is readily accessible on the RF Board. If
you do not know how to get those boards out, I can help, just ask.

[Elecraft] K2 speaker/headphones switching.

2011-01-17 Thread Christopher Kimball

Just bought a new K2 #4913. All is great, however, inserting a
headphone doesn't cut off the speaker. The headphone plug is a standard
3.5 mm plug. The schematics show the plug should cut the speaker.

Is there an internal parameter that needs setting? If not what's the
easy way to access the jack?

Thanks,
