Operation of the the KXPA100 with its tuner works great with my KX3 using the KXUSB cable (particularly nice when KX3 is mounted on my truck dash and amp is under the back seat.

But I also use the amp/tuner with my K3/10 (low power version) which has no KXUSB jack. I just connect PTT to the amp. Works great and tuner tunes well. But when I change bands the amp/tuner seems confused. Doesn't change antenna connections or tuner settings when I transmit using the XMIT/TUNE button on the K3.

I've found thru trial-n-error that cycling the amp power off/on seems to then do the changes needed and it tunes well (remembers pre-tuned freqs.)

I'm guessing the KXAT100 detects frequency change but does not activate the tuner settings until I reset it with the power cycling.

Just curious if this is normal behavior?

My setup:
ANT1: connects to 6m antenna (BYP) or triband HF yagi (MAN)
ANT2: connects to 80m dipole (BYP)
K3-->KXPA100 ANT1-->ant switch-->6m yagi or HF tribander
             ANT2-->80m dipole

If switching from 6m to tribander I switch the ant switch before transmitting. Usually I manually change ANT1 to ANT2 by Press/hold TUNE on the amp if switching to 80m.
