[Elecraft] KX3 #3933 VFO encoder noise

2013-04-12 Thread Hans Østnell
Hi group!

Just noticed that the VFO encoder in my KX3 is generating noise on a couple
of bands when tuning, On 10 MHz a just a little, on 14 MHz a little bit
more, a bit worse on 18 and 21 MHz, and even more on 24 and 28 MHz. Nothing
on 50 MHz and nothing below 10 MHz.

Is this normal, or does anyone have a hint of any solution of this problem?

The noise it's not really that loud, but pretty annoying when tuning around.

Yes, it is normal. To reduce the effect, you can enable the VFO NR setting in
the menu, and/or enable RX SHFT=8 for the bands where the tuning noise is
annoying.
