Re: [Elecraft] [KX3] Status?

2012-02-16 Thread hlkent
How many similarly suspenseful times have their been in ham history? The
arrival of KX3s on doorsteps around the world has got to be one of the most
eagerly anticipated events in amateur radio!

Re: [Elecraft] [KX3] Status?

2012-02-16 Thread Steve KC8QVO
Well said! I think that the suspense goes to show what kind of products
Elecraft puts out. They are instant classics and carry with them a prestige
all their own. If they weren't in that category the delay wouldn't be such a
big deal to everyone. I'd be curious how many hams are out there chomping at
the bit along with us for the KX3 HI.

Though the suspense is crazy I trust Elecraft is doing the best. A time
delay is well warranted if it means one less bug (software or hardware) for
us to deal with.

[Elecraft] [KX3] Status?

2012-02-15 Thread Steve KC8QVO
We're half way through the month. Any word on getting close to shipment? Will
it be closer to the end of February or first couple weeks of March?

Re: [Elecraft] KX3 status

2011-07-09 Thread lyle johnson
We have a KX3 engineering prototype getting exercised on
the air this weekend at K7S, our local QRP group's annual
Salmoncon event. We used it yesterday to activate Little
Si as part of the Summits On The Air program and we made
several SSB and CW contacts with it. Last night we made
several additional contacts in general operating, include
DX.

Being an engineering prototype, the radio has its warts,
but all of the several operators who have tried it out so
far are pretty enthusiastic about it...

Lyle KK7P

Has anyone heard any feedback yet on the rigs performance?
