Re: [Elecraft] P span retention
This was discussed at length several years ago. My memory is becoming increasingly write-only and I don't remember the exact outcome of those exchanges, but I think I recall that the SPAN is preserved, however the center frequency depended on how the band change occurred. I do know that once I understood how it was designed, mine has stayed stable. 73, Fred ["Skip"] K6DGW Sparks NV DM09dn Washoe County Jim McDonald wrote on 8/12/2022 7:35 AM: I have the span "sticking" at 30 kHz when I change bands, but the center frequency is changing with the P3 in fixed-tune mode. I've tried the macros stored in the P3 and, just now, macros in VA2FSQ's Win4K3Suite, but the center frequency doesn't stick. https://va2fsq.com/ For instance, I want to see 7020-7050 with the center frequency of 7035. I set that either with the buttons on the right side of the P3 or a macro, change bands to 80 and then go back to 40, and the center frequency has changed to 7040, so the span is 7025 to 7055. It's not a huge problem, of course, just a bit frustrating. 73, Jim N7US -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net On Behalf Of Victor Rosenthal Sent: Friday, August 12, 2022 00:30 To: elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Elecraft] P span retention I also recall this problem. [Elecraft] P span retention
Not a new question, but I don't remember the answer. I think the P3 should remember the span and center frequency on each band, but my P3 is forgetful.
