Never had a problem with Prolific parts - except for the end-of-life variants (HXA & XA) they removed from driver newer than v3.2. FTDI did the same thing for a pirated USB part. Here is the solution, without the actual v3.2 driver. Seems Prolific doesn't want that made available. We converted from Prolific to FTDI chips on the KUSB many years ago. Joe, Quite likely true, but you can still use the older drivers that support the counterfeit chips on Windows 10; Apple has apparently locked out that option with the newest version of Mac OS X from what I have been reading elsewhere. Elecrafters, i have a Prolific USB<>serial Adapter for a laptop<>K3 connection. While the installation (installation? what installation?) under Ubuntu was just plug&play, win7 32bit drives me nuts. The installer exe from the Prolific website crashed with an error. So for now i use a usb 1.1 driver dated 2003 which a friend sent me.
