Howdy Bob,
Thank you for trying. I have another op from Scotland who keeps trying but just can't quite make it in. One of these days we may get some relays from the East Coast into the heartland and thence to the West Coast. But you were hearing Tom direct. Fine business. Today, at 1600z, my sked into Oklahoma was very good. After the first 15 minutes or so the band got very stong with only slight QSB. The noise level had dropped from last week so it was easy copy. Thus my CW mentor sped up! But this is his nature. He wants me to break through into a bit faster realm. The Elecraft Net is on 7045 and 14050 kHz each Sunday. We never did try 30 meters but will try 80 meters if my employment situation ever stabilizes. I have loop on the roof which is in need of some rope. If I have to move across the country for a job it makes no sense to put it up just to take it down a few weeks later. But the low take off angle just may help work across the Atlantic Ocean. One day I hope to put K2 #4498 into the log.
