Re: [Elecraft] S/N 687 1st PSK31 Contact
The K3 manual suggests putting a resistive divider in the audio output line from the computer. I installed a 10:1 divider using a 1Kohm and a 100 ohm resistor and it made it a lot easier to adjust the mic input gain so that I got none-to-one bars AGC. Don K7FJ -- My only complaint with the K3 is that is requires very little audio input to get to 50 Watts! Had the LINE IN setting on 1 and the computers MAIN Volume and WAVE OUTPUT way down. Can this be changed with different firmware? It would be nice to be able to leave the computer's level alone, and be able to have more range with the K3's controls... ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. [Elecraft] S/N 687 1st PSK31 Contact
I had my first PSK31 contact with K3 S/N 687. Using an output power of 50 Watts, the IMDs were -29dBc or better, as displayed on the KK7uq IMD Meter. Why use 5 Watts when you can use 50 Watts? Too many people have 100 watt rigs and use 10 Watts or less, making it difficult for one to copy them... My only complaint with the K3 is that is requires very little audio input to get to 50 Watts!
