Re: [Elecraft] W2 Wattmeter idea
I use an Alpha 4510 Power/SWR Meter and it does have a power delivered/forward setting just for that. That setting takes all of these factors into consideration for the final product it reads from .03-3000w. That is the reason for my trusted Oak Hills Research WM-2 QRP wattmeter still in line for my KX3. 73, Fred/N0AZZ K3 Ser # 6730--KX3 # 5210--K2/100 # 6470-KAT100 P3/SVGA--KAT500--W2 Amps Elecraft KPA500 HF/6m--Alpha's 9500 HF--87A HF--Mirage B-5030-G 300+w--(2) B-5016-G's 165w 2m -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Vic Rosenthal K2VCO Sent: Tuesday, December 24, 2013 8:08 PM To: Elecraft Reflector Subject: [Elecraft] W2 Wattmeter idea I just ordered a W2 wattmeter, haven't received it yet, and I already want to change something! But when it is greater than 1:1, then the actual power output is the forward power LESS the reflected power. I would like an option to display this output power, forward less reflected. This could probably be done in the firmware, a SMOP as Wayne likes to say. I realize that this does not tell you the power delivered to the antenna, for which you would need to know the line loss. But it is still a more useful indication than just the forward power. -- Vic K2VCO Fresno CA http://www.qsl.net/k2vco/ __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Elecraft] W2 Wattmeter idea
Dr Vic, Iam using K2 and LP-100A Wattmeter for my remotely controlled station, both works fine. The K2 accuracy for SWR upto 2 is enough good (10%). If you need more sophisticated Wattmeter, use the LP-100A. http://www.telepostinc.com/lp100.html LP-100A can indicate the pure FWD power. And many other parameters. 73, MX and HNY2014 Milan, OK7GU www.ok7gu.com -- Message: 3 Date: Tue, 24 Dec 2013 18:08:17 -0800 From: Vic Rosenthal K2VCO k2vco@gmail.com To: Elecraft Reflector elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Elecraft] W2 Wattmeter idea Message-ID: 52ba3e11.7060...@gmail.com Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed I just ordered a W2 wattmeter, haven't received it yet, and I already want to change something! For what it might be worth, my Power Master 2 from Array Solutions has an option called Net Power that does exactly what you want. 73 KD7GC Alan R.
