Elecraft Kool Aid contains a high percentage of Elcohol; hence that fellow's misspelling/poor grammar ( Crag's List, have drank) that detracted from my otherwise humorous enjoyment of his post. Re: [Elecraft] Kool-Aid -- was 2m Module
Kool-Aid is a pre-mixed powder packet of artificial flavor an artificial colour to which you add sugar and water and drink (i think in England it's called a squash). It's something people used to give their children to drink instead of water before 2 litre bottles of soda pop became so cheap that people started buying that in unhealthy quantities instead. However, as used here, it seems to mean that one has become a believer in Elecraft products. In early usage there was an implication of absolute, blind, loyalty, but that seems to have fallen off given the open and technical discussions. I drank a lot of different flavors of Kool-Aid as a child. It was made in large quantities, like a pitcher, and was less expensive per ounce/glass than soda/pop. I'm sure that cost was the rationale for many parents. 73 de Jim - AD6CW On 8/23/2013 4:37 AM, David Toepfer wrote: Kool-Aid is a pre-mixed powder packet of artificial flavor an artificial colour to which you add sugar and water and drink (i think in England it's called a squash). Mix up your favorite flavor of Koolaid, leaving out the sugar and put it in a spray bottle. Cover your work surface with a sheet of heavy paper or light cardboard and spritz it with the Koolaid.
