I've seen a lot of assistance for this thread that starts out with: "The best way to proceed with an uncompleted project is to first check that all components have been inserted in the correct location. Open the manual to the parts listing and check each installed part for the correct value."
or some such wisdom. That is an EXCELLENT second step. The FIRST step, is go to the web, download the manual in PDF format (so you can search on it) and get the latest errata. So the FIRST STEP is to HAND-WRITE THE ERRATA INTO THE MANUAL ITSELF IN PLACE, and then proceed with "check that all components have been inserted in the correct location". Wouldn't you feel silly removing the "wrong" part because of the manual, only to find in troubleshooting that the part had been replaced (or even removed - C180 on the RF board is no longer used) in a note you didn't have! hth Dan / WG4S / K2 #2456 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
