RE: [Elecraft] Message 'Firmware Files Missing'

2007-11-24 Thread Roger Stein
"I am not having success with the Firmware Upload process."

Ah-ha, I got itI had not 'manually' created the file folder "firmware".
I went to the Elecraft ftp site and copied the files directly to my 'new'
folder,
and then all was right in the K3 utility program.
Yes, Yes, it was in the trouble-shooting section!!

I am an analog guy in a digital world!!

RE: [Elecraft] Message 'Firmware Files Missing'

2007-11-24 Thread Ron D'Eau Claire
Hi Roger:

Are you using Downloader 1.0.11.19 (or later)? The downloader was upgraded
recently and the new one is required to download the new files.

To be sure the files are there, I just checked using the downloader. Here's
what it reported:

23:19:08 Enter OnDirectoryReadComplete
23:19:08 Your Folder has the most recent K3 firmware files from Elecraft
23:19:08 Enter OnAllFileDownloadComplete
23:19:08 Enter Finish: Verb OnAllFileDownloadComplete dwError 0 fForceError
0
23:19:08 Enter CFtpElecraft::Close
23:19:08 Enter CFtpElecraft::Close
23:19:15 Ready

I'm showing MCU 01.42, DSP1 01.39 currently available.

-Original Message-

I am not having success with the Firmware Upload process.

OS on old Laptop PC is Windows 2000, K3 Utility loads ok, COM1 selected,
selecting the Test Communications yields "K3 is running main program RS232
4800bps"

Current versions installed on K3 boards displays as: MCU-1.34 DSP-1.35

The path is C:\Program Files\Elecraft K3 Utility\firmware to receive files.

I keep getting the 'missing files' message and to See Help-Troubleshooting.

OK, I go to Troubleshooting via the Help page and I must not be holding my
mouth right, (fishing talk), but the obvious is not.

Otherwise...K3 #75 is receiving nicely!! and generates RF!! No QSO's yet.
The PA module awaits installation. I spent quite a bit of time just looking
over the boards under magnificationabsolutely amazing...going from the
ideas to the physical!!!
