Re: [Elecraft] WTB K2 Kit
Thinking you're looking for less than retail? Every now and then someone pops up with a partly built kit, started but couldn't finish for some reason. Maybe once a year. I've never seen a completely unbuilt kit come on the list. I might have missed one, but they are rare if not non-existent. After that, I refer you to the prior answers. Would add that getting an older used K2 and doing all the mods and upgrades, like the version A board to B board functionality, is a good exercise and if you carefully go through the setup tests in the original build manual, you will discover any problems. Plenty of MOJO from that exercise too. I did that to #1239 which I bought for far less than retail and then did mods for full B board status and added the DSP. Even with all the extra expense for mods/DSP was still way less than retail. Fixed some stuff in the original build as well. 73, Guy. There was one on either QTH or eham this morning. It was pretty basic and fairly cheap -- $400-$500 if I remember correctly. You can always add more later. Good luck on the search. Re: [Elecraft] WTB - K2 or K3
I agree. K2 TX audio is far from excellent. We have 3 of K2 here in the neighborhood. All of them produce SSB signal that leaves some more to be desired. As for CW - no doubt, it is very good radio. 73, Igor UA9CDC - Original Message - From: "Kevin Cozens" To: "K2" Sent: Sunday, April 22, 2012 11:48 AM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] WTB - K2 or K3 > On 12-04-16 12:59 PM, Eddy wrote: >> I'd go with the K3 if Transmit audio quality is >> important to you.the K2 (mine included) has never been know for good >> transmit audio. Hi Gerald, not for sale, but I'd go with the K3 if Transmit audio quality is important to you.the K2 (mine included) has never been know for good transmit audio. However, if CW is your thing the K2 kicks butt. I've never owned or operated the k3, by-the-way, my opinions are from online comments. 73/ed -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/WTB-K2-or-K3-tp7468950p7470941.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
