There was a post some months ago to gauge interest in a 0dBm output module, but
if that eventuates, it will not be until after the ~3W output transverter is
released.

Oh Really? Thats fantastic! I could have sworn I asked at Dayton and was
told it was XVTR level output. Perhaps Wayne or Eric can tell us for sure.
It would help planning!

Chris,
Where did you get the idea that the KX3 2M module output 1mw? Wayne has
repeatedly stated they expect something between 3 to 5w output. I know
nothing about the Flex6700 (does it run with 1mw output?). Most of the RF
modules used in radios require something like 20mw (+13 dBm) drive.

One can make a nice 10-13w amplifier using a mmic driver into a choice of
several RF modules. Only RF design would be the LP filter on the high level
output. I used a MAV-11 with 50mw output to drive a ($33 from RF Parts)
RA13H1317M module to 13w output. These mmic's and RF modules require no
tuned circuits so little engineering to their circuitry. Just deliver the
proper drive and dc voltages with power leads RF decoupled using bypass caps
and regulated dc voltage.
Really simple circuitry.

Since we have some time to wait, I was wondering if I could get some advice
on any available amps that could be used to boost the 1mW projected output
of the KX3's upcoming 2M module to higher power levels. I could use this
on my Flex 6700 2M radio as well. Either something to drive a larger amp,
so between 1 and 5 watts, or even more. Does anyone have any good
recommendations?
