Re: [Elecraft] Interesting project enclosure for board-only projects

2006-10-08 Thread Leigh L Klotz, Jr.
Elecraft already has their signature case style with the six face panels
and the three-hole bar brackets for vertices. Maybe they can make them
in 2-56 size for the minimodules. The end pieces could be varied to
accomodate the mini-modules.

They might even simplify their end by just selling a bundle of case
parts, good enough for making 3.

I just love thinking of things for other people to do.

Re: [Elecraft] Interesting project enclosure for board-only projects

2006-10-08 Thread Jack Smith

I've been thinking about the CircuitShell idea after running across it.

You could do something similar with a standard Hammond die cast box --
discard the lid and invert the case and attach to the PCB. Use two of
them at right angles on the top and bottom as in the CircuitShell if
necessary.

Either way, of course, requires that you design the PCB to fit the box
and that you watch the trace routing around the box edges if you go with
a conductive enclosure such as the Hammond series.

version, though.
