Considering the superb mechanical engineering of the K2,
one has to wonder why chassis screws aren't countersunk.

 I may have to order up a bag or two  
of the flat-head screws, and countersink all the holes on the top and  
sides of the K2, so it has the nice smooth look.

I don't have a K1 to measure, but are the chassis parts the same thickness?
My K2 appears to use too thin a material for a countersunk screw. The pan
head is more secure anyhow. Maybe the designers will pipe in (hint, hint).
