Anyone know what the problem may be? With prior releases of the utility all
 worked well and as expected.

The new version works fine here, Chuck. I checked for new firmware
several times with never an error message. This version pops up a
message several times saying that newer firmware is available, but I
assume that's because I don't yet have my K3 and it doesn't see any
firmware. I'm running Win XP SP2 on an Intel board.

I understand your point, Joe. OTOH, as a reflector subscriber, I am happy
to see posts, and answers, to questions such as this. They are often of use
to other subscribers which wouldn't happen with a direct Elecraft support
email. Also, other users may have the answer which saves Elecraft employees
from diverting focus from things only they can do ... such as working off
the shipment backlog.

What I would like to see less of are the long threads guessing about serial
numbers, shipping status, deposits, etc. Probably each of us has our own
preferences for what we want to see, and don't want to see, on the
reflector.

Thanks, Ed. What is disturbing to me is guys who do not have a K3 but who
are poking around with the firmware loader and posting faults to the
reflector

for whatever reason is behind their intent. This makes no sense to me.

Nope.

There's a separate K3 support email address which seems to light up every K3
engineer on the planet, which is pretty cool. But there's no separate
reflector. There are a hundred or so K3 owners so chances are someone out
there can answer a simple K3 question to the benefit of everyone on the
reflector.
