The latest field-test KX2 firmware (2.62) allows all mic and VOX settings to be 
adjusted regardless of mode or type of mic in use. I'll send it to you.

Correct, something has to be plugged into the jack (a mic or soundcard) before 
the KX2 will let you change those two in particular.

Do you have a mic plugged in? If not the KX2 is in internal mic mode.

Also, make sure you are not in data mode... the KX2 won't let you change some 
of those settings in data mode.
