You guys should probably have something to discuss instead of having the
viewers create discussions for you, though.

[Elementary-dev-community] Blueprints for luna-beta1

2012-10-06 Thread David Gomes
I think it's high time we fixed the blueprints for luna-beta1.

1. https://blueprints.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+spec/prioritize-apps I
think this should be milestoned to Luna+1 or at least removed from
luna-beta1, we're not only blocked by a bug, as it is not a priority.

2. https://blueprints.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+spec/plank-default-apps I
think this is already handled, right? We *do* have a good default app line
up. If not, we should take care of this right now (it's Plank, right?) and
put it as "Implemented".

3. https://blueprints.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+spec/default-apps I think
Default Apps just *have* to be decided. From what I heard, we're shipping
Noise and Totem, so the Google Document (
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1w0t80KEm_M6cbWX3-F_MOYCxA7PrcflbarbYaJkOpqk/edit)
should be edited. Also, isn't Slingshot displaying apps just fine for now?
I think it's pretty much 'Implemented'.

4. https://blueprints.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+spec/indicator-strategyLike
Mefrio put it, no indicator is linking to gnome-control-center AFAIK,
so why not Implemented?

5.
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+spec/consistent-keyboard-shortcutsAre
any of the shortcuts not working correctly now? Is there any to be
Implemented? I know that the desired terminal one was Super-T, but there's
a bug in Gnome and we have to go with Ctrl Alt T for now, it's not a big
deal. But besides that?

6.
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+spec/plank-default-settingsShouldn't
this go in plank-elementary? No need for special default
settings, aren't we using plank-elementary now? Also, from what Tom told
me, Plank *does* hide when the window is maximized on Luna. It's on the
Bottom. We have the catchy elementary theme and the icons are 48 pixels
tall, right? I say 'Implemented'.

Well, I didn't put all blueprints here. There are others, regarded to OS
itself (such as upgradeable Luna) that are not ready, I believe.

The reason I'm posting this is that we need a clean luna-beta1 page.

5 isn't implemented, this still needs a lot of thought from designers and
they seem to be busy.

IMHO a hackfest is much more needed to complete Luna than to plan future
work... all what's left requires a lot of coordination, all the easy items
are already fixed.

I have dealt with visas before, it is not a big deal to get a new one issued if
we issue a signed invitation for the event.

[Elementary-dev-community] elementary Luna GRUB theme

2012-10-06 Thread Eduard Gotwig
What about a super sexy grub theme :D ?

Something like
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/GS%2BBeefy+Miracle+GRUB+and+Plymouth+theme?content=154495
,
maybe?

Just wanted to ask, before I make a big blueprint.

That'd be very nice instead of the purplish (44,0,30) background.
Something simple that blends with plymouth.
