Re: [Elementary-dev-community] Porting to Debian as GSoC project

2014-02-26 Thread Sergey "Shnatsel" Davidoff
Rico Tzschichholz (ricotz) and Devid Antonio Filoni (devfil) are the only
Debian maintainers who have been involved in elementary AFAIK. I don't know
where to look up whether they're Debian *developers* or not.

As for the student to perform that, I could undertake this task. It'd be
nice to finally get out of the shady PPA stade and up to the Debian
standards.

Buyongo, the GSoC idea page already lists the required skills:

This would also be interesting for other ports of elementary as this
would loosen the dependencies on ubuntu components or at least make
these dependencies more explicit.

I guess you already know everything there is to know about Ubuntu-specific
dependencies, so why don't we team up and document that regardless of GSoC?
We've already tried doing that but apparently that was too early.

Well, I don't know all the details, since in the end I just started
adding all ubuntu patches for certain packages to the Gentoo ebuilds...

But that would indeed be an interesting exercise. Also since the newer
indicators need some patching due to a stronger integration with upstart
and the ubuntu phone platform.

I'm currently busy finishing my PhD thesis, but next month I should have
time for this.

I don't know anything about debian-mantaining (yet ;), but I'd love to help.

[Elementary-dev-community] [Merge] lp:~elementary-dev-community/noise/fix-1089869 into lp:noise

2014-02-26 Thread Cameron Norman
Cameron Norman has proposed merging
lp:~elementary-dev-community/noise/fix-1089869 into lp:noise.

Requested reviews:
  elementary Apps team (elementary-apps)

For more details, see:
https://code.launchpad.net/~elementary-dev-community/noise/fix-1089869/+merge/208528

This changes a couple things about the visibility and sensitivity of the search
field and view selector.

1: the view selector is invisible if the list view or grid view is unavailable.
This fixes #1089869 because the grid view is not available when the queue,
device, et al lists are in use, and the view selector is made invisible.

2: the view selector and search field are invisible on the welcome screen.

3: the view selector is insensitive if the alert screen is present but the grid
and list views are still available.

[Elementary-dev-community] [Merge] lp:~elementary-dev-community/noise/fix-1089869 into lp:noise

2014-02-26 Thread Cameron Norman
The proposal to merge lp:~elementary-dev-community/noise/fix-1089869 into
lp:noise has been updated.

Description changed to:

This changes a couple things about the visibility and sensitivity of the search
field and view selector.

1: the view selector is invisible if the list view or grid view is unavailable.
This fixes #1089869 because the grid view is not available when the queue,
device, et al lists are in use, and the view selector is made invisible.

2: the view selector and search field are invisible on the welcome screen.

3: the view selector is insensitive if the alert screen is present but the grid
and list views are still available.

4: the column mode toggle is never invisible unless the whole view selector is.
