2012-05-31 Thread Alan Bartlett
Announcing the release of updated kmod-r8168 packages into the EL5
elrepo repository:

http://elrepo.org/tiki/kmod-r8168

This package provides an updated r8168 driver, version 8.031.00-1, and
is kABI compatible with all kernels from 5.0 (kernel-2.6.18-8.el5)
upwards.

It is built to depend upon the specific ABI provided by a range of
releases of the same variant of the Linux kernel and not on any one
specific build.

The following files are currently syncing to the mirrors:

x86
kmod-r8168-8.031.00-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm
kmod-r8168-PAE-8.031.00-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm
kmod-r8168-xen-8.031.00-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm

x86_64
kmod-r8168-8.031.00-1.el5.elrepo.x86_64.rpm
kmod-r8168-xen-8.031.00-1.el5.elrepo.x86_64.rpm

SRPMS
r8168-kmod-8.031.00-1.el5.elrepo.src.rpm

You may update your system by:

yum --disablerepo=\* --enablerepo=elrepo update kmod-r8168

Once the package has been updated, remember to unload the old version
before loading the newer driver into the kernel:

/sbin/ifdown ethN
/sbin/modprobe -r r8168
/sbin/modprobe r8168
/sbin/ifup ethN

Thank you,

The ELRepo Team.
