[O] Fwd: Org mode latex export with "Letter" Class

2017-11-12 Thread Mohamed Zaki
Hi

I am trying to export an org file to latex using the org-mode version
9.1.2. The input file structure is:
#+LaTeX_CLASS: LTR
* letter{}
.
.
.
\closing{Thank you,}

Unfortunately, the compilation fails to generate the proper tex file
The body of the tex file is missing. The output tex file is:
\documentclass{letter}
...
\begin{document}

\begin{letter}
letter\{\}
\end{document}

It seems that the exporter does not recognize the letter environment.

I use auctex-11.89.5 and the .emacs file includes the following lines

(require 'ox-latex)
(with-eval-after-load 'ox-latex
(add-to-list 'org-latex-classes '("LTR" "\\documentclass{letter}"
("\\begin{letter}" "\\end{letter}" "\\begin{letter}" "\\end{letter}"

I've been using an older version of org-mode 7.x for many years and never
had this problem. But i understand that the export code has changed.
I appreciate your help
M.Zaki

Since the code was already present in "ox-html", but not at the right
branch in the `cond', this qualifies as a bugfix. I applied it to maint
branch.

Thank you.

Below are two examples that should help you on your way. See the
documentation for org-latex-classes for an explanation of
[NO-DEFAULT-PACKAGES], etc., which you might or might not want to use.

You can put the (add-to-list ...) functions in your .emacs so they are
always available, or you can call one of the source code blocks from a
buffer you want to export. I find it convenient to do this:

#Local Variables
# eval: (org-sbe "koma-article-palatino")

You'll also need to specify the LaTeX class in the buffer you want to export:
#+LATEX_CLASS: koma-article-palatino

hth,
Tom

#+name: koma-article-times
#+header: :results silent
#+begin_src emacs-lisp
  (require 'ox-latex)
  (add-to-list 'org-latex-classes
   '("koma-article-times"

[O] org-mode in French

2017-11-12 Thread gmx

Hello,
I've been using Org-mode for several months now, with pleasure.
However, I would like the .tex files use some packages (babel,
french...), a particular koma-script class (scrartcl), etc., which allow
me to release a. pdf file with French typographical standards.

How to do this?

Thank you for your help,
Frederic

This was just my preference since I hardlink almost all of the time.
Further attach-methods should be included, I agree.

I chose org-dired.el because of the similar gnus-dired.el from which the
idea has emerged. org-attach.el also looks like a good location for the
feature to me.

Okay, I will stay with "subtree".

Thanks Nick!
I downloaded StartOzServer.oz into a suited directory. The file ob-oz.el had
to be adapted for looking for StartOzServer.oz in that directory.
Now executing (C-C C-C) on a code block the process Org-babel-OPI-socket is
started but now I get the error message:

Org-babel: executing Oz expression
Create OPI socket for evaluating expressions
open-network-stream: make client process failed: Connection refused, :name,
*Org-babel-OPI-socket*, :buffer, nil, :host, localhost, :service, 6001,
:nowait, nil

If I execute (C-C C-C) once more I get a different message:

executing Oz code block...
Org-babel: executing Oz expression
Create OPI socket for evaluating expressions
org-babel-insert-result: Wrong type argument: markerp, nil

If I do it a third time then all works fine, i. e. executing the code block

#+begin_src oz :results value
39 + 3
#+end_src

results in insertion of
#+RESULTS:
: 42
into the org file.

It seems a bit strange for me, but it is usable.

Why is hard linking mandatory? Couldn't this function obey to
`org-attach-method'?

> - Find the files attached to the orgee.

According to this description, I think it could be implemented as
a function within "org-attach.el" instead of a new library.

Also, in the context of Org, an "org subtree" is simply a "subtree".
I prefer "subtree" over "orgee".

[O] [rfc] org-dired

2017-11-12 Thread Marco Wahl
Hi!

org-dired (https://github.com/marcowahl/org-dired) is a experimental
little tool to ease attaching files to org subtrees via dired.

Actually I use this feature quite often.

Up to now org-dired-attach-hardlinked-to-next-best-orgee is the only
function available.

The flow goes like so

Prepare
- In a dired buffer mark files or have the cursor on a file.
- Have also an org mode window open.
- Place the cursor in an orgee. (Orgee is short for org subtree.)
Act
- M-x org-dired-attach-hardlinked-to-next-best-orgee
Enjoy
- Find the files attached to the orgee.

Feel free to play with the implementation.

WDYT?

Should something like this enter orgmode?

Thanks for your time,
 Marco

Org-babel: executing Oz expression
Create OPI socket for evaluating expressions
open-network-stream: make client process failed: Connection refused, :name,
*Org-babel-OPI-socket*, :buffer, nil, :host, localhost, :service, 6001,
:nowait, nil

If I execute (C-C C-C) once more I get a different message:

executing Oz code block...
Org-babel: executing Oz expression
Create OPI socket for evaluating expressions
org-babel-insert-result: Wrong type argument: markerp, nil

If I do it a third time then all works fine, i. e. executing the code block

#+begin_src oz :results value
 39 + 3
#+end_src

results in insertion of
#+RESULTS:
: 42
into the org file.

It seems a bit strange for me, but it is usable.
