[O] creating lists - auto create next item
Hi, all. I am coming back to org-mode after several years away from emacs, and getting my .emacs updated to everything that happened while i was gone. Anyway, when writing a list with org mode, in the past, i would do something like: - item 1 - start here when i entered item 1, i would immediately be taken down to the next line, with the preceeding - inserted. for some reason, this is not working.. currently: osx GNU Emacs 24.3.1 (x86_64-apple-darwin13.2.0, NS apple-appkit-1265.20) of 2014-07-01 Org-mode version 8.2.7b (8.2.7b-1-ga5beff-elpa @ /Users/sergio/emacs_d/.cask/24.3.1/elpa/org-20140707/) thanks! -- peace, sergio photographer, journalist, visionary #BitMessage BM-2D8VWUJSS41RFKh1ec83preVabHrnniExa http://www.Village-Buzz.com http://www.ThoseOptimizeGuys.com http://www.CodingForHire.com http://www.coffee-black.com http://www.painlessfrugality.com http://www.twitter.com/sergio_101 http://www.facebook.com/sergio101
[Orgmode] latex export: forcing a page break
i would like to use org-mode as a makeshift cook book. i get asked for recipes all the time. i figure if i keep a cookbook updated all the time, i can just forward people a pdf file that has everything in it and is updated all the time.. my only hitch.. i would like once recipe per page. how can i force a page break? ideas? thanks! -- peace, sergio photographer, journalist, visionary http://www.CodingForHire.com http://www.coffee-black.com http://www.painlessfrugality.com http://www.twitter.com/sergio_101 http://www.facebook.com/sergio101 ___ Emacs-orgmode mailing list Please use `Reply All' to send replies to the list. Type 'm' in front of each and then B s to a new date. If you want to move them all forward one week to the same day, I think you'll have to write some elisp. hmm... for some reason, i thought i had it set up before to just automagically pull tasks over to the next week.. unfortunately, i just can't remember at all.. hmm... thanks! -- peace, sergio photographer, journalist, visionary http://www.CodingForHire.com http://www.coffee-black.com http://www.painlessfrugality.com http://www.twitter.com/sergio_101 http://www.facebook.com/sergio101 ___ Emacs-orgmode mailing list Please use `Reply All' to send replies to the list. i have been away from org-mode and i have come back to it recently. when i was using it before, i seem to remember having a keystroke combo that allowed me to start up a TODO item, and then it would quickly shift to deadline entry, then tag entry. i can't find anything on this, nor can i remember what it was.. any ideas? thanks! -- peace, sergio photographer, journalist, visionary http://www.CodingForHire.com http://www.coffee-black.com http://www.painlessfrugality.com http://www.twitter.com/sergio_101 http://www.facebook.com/sergio101 ___ Emacs-orgmode mailing list Please use `Reply All' to send replies to the list. [Orgmode] getting rid of old org-mode files..
i think my problem with exporting my latex files is that there may be pieces of the old org-mode laying around.. i am currently on: osx: 10.5.7 carbon emacs: GNU Emacs 22.3.1 (i386-apple-darwin9.6.0, Carbon Version 1.6.0) org-mode: 6.27a upon install on carbon emacs, i had the following org-mode installed: 5.23a i did a make on the new version of org mode.. and everything seemed to be okay.. BUT.. i couldn't find where the old org-mode was installed, so i couldn't find it to delete all the parts.. another point of interest is that if i run emacs from the command line, i get the following: Org-mode version 4.67c so there might be parts installed somewhere else, too.. anyone have any ideas where else to look? thanks! ___ sergio t. ruiz network analyst red red design 419.281.8483 ___ Emacs-orgmode mailing list Remember: use `Reply All' to send replies to the list. Re: [Orgmode] export to latex
Just to add one additional (quite useless data point).. I tried the example file and it did seem to hang with Emacs consuming lots of CPU. okay, i knew i was going to miss something... html export works just fine.. but i never do get a fail.. the processor usage shoots to 100%.. and hangs there... i let it go for a few hours.. then quit it. the error message i sent was from after cancelling in the middle of the export.. -- ___ peace, sergio http://www.village-buzz.com ___ Emacs-orgmode mailing list Remember: use `Reply All' to send replies to the list.
