Thanks . I added (setq org-fold-core-style 'overlays) in my init.el
If doesnt work i will email back.

Please try

(1) (setq org-fold-core-style 'overlays) early in your init
(2) Use the latest development version of Org mode.

I see this too. The only way to access the subtree again is to 
kill the buffer and reopen the file.
