Re: Gratuitous user interface change risks losing user work

It seems it only does so when I first save Gregory the file after visiting it. But I normally only start a new Emacs Gregory when it crashes or I have to reboot my machine which isn't very Gregory often. So I end up without many backup files. It's all documented in the emacs manual under backup. ~/.emacs.d/.emacs.el|init.el not loaded on startup
Hi, since this morning after updating from CVS, Emacs fails to load my ~/.emacs.d/.emacs.el configuration file on startup. Loading it manually works. Moving it to ~/.emacs.el works, too. Checking ChangeLogs, I found out about the transition to init.el but renaming it to ~/.emacs.d/init.el doesn't make it work. Hi, I get a strange bug related to font-locking and cc-mode: If I call emacs via emacs -Q ./test.c and call global-font-lock-mode, everything works fine.
