I haven't seen this in quite a while. At the time I had the impression
that there was a stark increase of these events after I had started
using a color-theme.  When I use a color-theme, it will usually modify a
gazillion faces, some of them linked with default-frame-alist etc. This
piece of code had bugs before; if I remember correctly Kim Storm had
fixed something about it a long time ago. Perhaps the OSX versions of
Emacs still have those bugs, or similar bugs. I keep thinking that
maybe the crashes one experiences sometimes when dragging or resizing
Emacs as it starts up might be related.

With the new version of Carbon Emacs I also stopped using my
color-theme, so that makes it hard to draw conclusions.

Alex.

OSX: Keymaps get corrupted (?)

2005-09-29 Thread David Reitter
Over the recent two months or so, I've seen several reports of
strangely corrupted keymaps in the Carbon port on OS X.
When that happens, no key input can be made (Error message: Wrong
type argument: commandp).

It is not reproducible, but obviously occurs regularly for some users.

More detailed accounts here:

I've never seen this. Maybe it's related to something I don't use
regularly.

Let me confirm first. Does it also occur on unmodified CVS version?

I have only seen it happen once, and that was in Aquamacs without
further changes.
