Yes, I feel that the outm only needs to be put in 2.8.4 to solve the 
immediate problem of board availability.


Currently only Debian unstable has the 7i96S and I sure most users would 
rather use a stable OS on their machines.

My only concern is that if 7i96s support is not include in 2.8 then will that 
cause config breakages after upgrading to 2.9 when that becomes the stable 
branch.

I also believe that if the driver is updated to support the 7i96s then PnCconf 
should also be updated to support it.
