It seems that the default for XFCE is Atril
https://packages.debian.org/buster/task-xfce-desktop

That should depend on the desktop system you install for the live cd.
I use kde for years and never heard about evince.
Afaik debians default desktop system is gnome, so the pdf-reader should be the
gnome default (if you're going with debians defaults), but I don't know, what
gnome default is.

Hi Andy

It woud be better if a PDF reader is installed from the word go as it
will be needed anyway sooner or later

menu does nothing, as it tries to open a PDF document.

Does it make more sense to add a PDF reader to the default install, or
to make the menu entry point to the HTML docs? (The G-code quick
reference will take you to HTML docs anyway)

And it looks like the installer doesn't include a local version of the
HTML docs.

There is also then the question about what to do with the French docs,
which are very outdated, and with the Chinese docs which are new but
don't get built AFAIK.

If there is a PDF document in the LiveCD, a reader should be included. If
you don't know how to install a reader, you can't read the docs

Just my view.
