[Emc-developers] thank you, whoever recently worked on pyvcp spinbuttons

2020-05-17 Thread Gene Heskett
Greetings all;

I just updated my 6040 and found the mist pump controlling spinbuttons no
longer take up an extra inch of screen width, saveing valuable screen
real estate. Thank you, a lot! I can now put 2 more buttons in that
unused area. If, I can figure out what to do with 2 more buttons ;-)

Cheers, Gene Heskett

[Emc-developers] Thank you!

2020-04-21 Thread Reinhard
Hi,

I just happened to notice, that active codes have been improved. G40/G41 shows
now correctly.
So thank you very much :)

But its not perfect yet. Stepping through
gmoccapy_2_tools_with_cutter_radius_compensation.ngc and reaching
line 45 "G3 X50 Y50 Z1 ..." the active codes show M9 already, although there
is a motion (G0 Z30) before hitting M9 command.

Then reaching Line 62 (G0 Z10), spindles current speed is already 6000 turns/
min, but the commanded spindle speed is stil 3000 turns/min
Commanding Spindle Speed to 6000 will happen at line 65 and turning spindle up
will happen at line 66 - but spindle is already running.
I checked twice, that the spindle is off during tool change.
After stepping through next motion after M3 - active codes shows M5, but not
M3.

Commanded feed rate and commanded spindle speed stay active even after Motion
stop and Spindle stop. That's a big improvement too.
Thank you.

cheers Reinhard

[Emc-developers] thank you!, thank you, thank you! (was: rationalize support, modubus cleanup)

2013-06-04 Thread Michael Haberler
To all the folks who said 'thank you for the great work': thank you.

Now please stop the damn 'thank you' thing, and contribute something. This
means action on _your_ behalf, not the developers behalf.

Mopping up the not-so-fancy corners of LinuxCNC is less than glamourous,
tedious, boring and required. Talk to us about it.

The skills need to contribute a rough first draft of, say, a platform reporting
script based on the examples discussed today are available to several dozens of
people in this audience. Dozens of other examples are easily found in the
mailing list archive.

Now get you cherished b... moving, do something less glamourous than what you
are currently doing and stop looking at us and our time.

Coaching is available by several persons.

Extra credits will be given for deliverables (that is: code which roughly
works).

No credits will be given for musings, opining, off-topic followups and 'wouldnt
it be nice if..'.

Floggings will continue until morale improves. Thank you.
