RE: ITE Requirements for India?

2000-01-05 Thread Grasso, Charles (Chaz)

Hi Kevin - I would like some clarification here.
In your response you indicate that there
are EMC REQUIREMENTS.

My question(s):
1. Is there a law requiring this.?
2. If so what is it ?
3. What marks are required?
4. Is there importation controls on ITE equipment
vis-a-vis EMC?

Thanks...

Scott,

As far as I know, India requirements for ITE is IEC950
and CISPR22. However you can get the latest
information directly from the government officials,
details of which is listed below:

Director ( Central Marks )
Bureau of Indian Standards

Also prepare yourself for a lot of red tapes similar
to Chinese and the Japanese approval process.

Good luck

Emissions using clamp

2000-01-05 Thread Derek Walton

Hi all,

I've just seen data from an emissions test using a clamp. The unusual
aspect was that this covered 30 MHz to 1 GHz. The test lab claimed that
it satisfied the requirements of CISPR 11 and 22, is this the case?

Any way this can be correlated back to a radiated test?

Thanks,

Derek Walton.

Re: Common Mode or Differential Mode

2000-01-05 Thread Patrick Lawler

When testing conducted emissions on a 3-wire (grounded) product, I
disconnect the green wire at the EUT. This removes a significant
portion of the common-mode signal.

Because my testing normally involves power supplies with simple,
ungrounded, resistive loads, this is easy to do. If a complex system
is being tested, this may mean removing several earth ground
connections.

WARNING
The chassis of the EUT may become 'hot' due to AC line-chassis
leakage current, so take appropriate precautions.

I need to know which are the USA mandatory requirements or regulations to

There is a widely held view (at least here in the UK) that specifications
should not contain provisions which change at a future date. There will
be pressure to leave the value at 75 W until any future proposal (if
any) is made for a change. Whether this will succeed is impossible to
judge at this stage.
