2003-04-08 Thread Kurt Fischer

Hi,

I was wondering if job availabilities can be posted on your email reflectors?

If yes, I'll forward you one concerning a contract position in Florida for an
EMC/Tempest engineer.

About FCC mark

2003-04-08 Thread gunter_j_ma...@embraco.com.br

Dear colleagues

Is the FCC mark needed on the body of a small electronic control instaled
inside a large appliance (like a freezer or washing machine) ?
My understanding is that the FCC mark must be given to the appliance, not
to the electronic control.

Thank you for your help !

C.O. Battery Voltages - EVERYWHERE

2003-04-08 Thread Joe Finlayson

I'm interested in obtaining information on the percentage of C.O.'s
worldwide that are utilizing -60VDC as their battery voltage. It is my
understanding that a majority use -48VDC although some still use -60VDC.
Any and all information/references would be helpful. If there are
references that are country specific or carrier specific, that would be
valuable information as well. Any charts/spreadsheets out there similar to
the mains supply charts I've seen would be excellent.

Thx,

Joe

RE: Field wiring solutions in the US.

2003-04-08 Thread Ilan Cohen

Most of you guys are probably familiar with the field wiring requirements
that ITE products must comply with. (mainly for DC powered units)

When a unit does not comply and the terminal block is not suitable for
field wiring than a manufacture has an option of using 6 leads (not a
very favorable option but it is an option) or redesign of the power
 interface.

A solution to this problem can be provided with an external box, which
will be sold with the unit. The box clearly must comply with all the
requirements of UL60950 (Terminal block suitable for filed wiring,
electrical enclosure, access to Hazardous energies, etc.).

Does any one know of connection boxes like that that are off the shelf and
are UL approved for filed wiring?
 Any other ideas?

EN61326 and deviations

2003-04-08 Thread charles.mar...@ps.ge.com

Hi all,

I have a question, in EN 61326, Table 2, Evaluation of immunity test
results, in the NOTE it states

That it is recommended that you use criteria A, but that criteria B may be
accepted provided that both specification and the test report highlight such
deviation(s) for the relevant combinations(s) of function and test

Does this mean I can Pass, for example, a product that meets criteria B for
4-3, Rad Im. at let's say 5.5 V/m just in a few frequencies only.

How much highlighting would I have to do in the Test Report and for the
product spec, what level of details? Would this include the DoC?

Could I say we meet Criteria A, but in a few frequencies we meet criteria
B, call for more details.

Thank You in advance for all your comments

Re: CCC mark information

2003-04-08 Thread Cajus Dinies

Dear Peter,

the list is still valid for more information you can also check directly the
CQC list:

http://www.cqc.com.cn/index-e.htm

The CCC Mark is like the European CE Mark mostly valid for end products but
not for components. However electrical components such as thermostats must
be certified as well if they shall be used in a end-product, which will be
CCC certified.

In this case there are three possibilities:
- voluntary component testing by CQC
- CB Report and Certification
- testing with the end-product.

With regards

Cajus

Subject: CCC mark information

 Hello all,

I'm currently looking at the CCC product catalogue that lists products
 requiring CCC marking.
 (available at:
 http://www.typeapproval.com/cn/Docs/CPCS_Catalogue_of_Equipment.pdf)

Does anyone know if the list is complete? If a product does not fall into
one of the categories on the list, are there any generic
standards/regulations that are applicable, or is the product simply
 exempted?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Regulations for fire control panels in Hungary

2003-04-08 Thread Kevin Harris

Hello,

I have been requested to get the contact information of somebody who would
know the regulatory requirements for selling fire control panels in Hungary
over the last several years. As we are in the alarm panel business and not
the fire business I was stumped but I'm hoping some of you may know or know
of someone who does. Please reply to me offline

Thanks

Metro Ethernet and Approval

2003-04-08 Thread Andre, Pierre-Marie
Hi there ,

By looking at the http://www.metroethernet.org www.metroethernet.org

I have been reading some recent information about “Ethernet” technology as
metropolitan Ethernet.

In the following article : http://www.vnunet.com/News/1139377
http://www.vnunet.com/News/1139377

“The completion of Metro Ethernet service specifications in August this year
may accelerate the take-up of the technology by telecoms carriers, leading to
a wider range of cheaper, faster, more reliable wide area network (Wan)
services becoming available to corporates. “

Can somebody give me some light about the future work for approval ?

Can we think reasonably that the new technology “Metro Ethernet” will
require approval as it could extend a LAN to a WAN ?

Thanks to share your thoughts

Pierre-Marie Andre
