VIRUS

2000-09-15 Thread David Monreal

Dear all,

I think I sent a virus to you. I'm so sorry that Trojan was sent. I received
it and it re-sent himself to all my contact list. It was not my intention.

It's not the best way to say goodbye to the mailing list. Hope you have not
problems with that.

Regards,

David

Farewell.

2000-09-08 Thread David Monreal

Dear all,

for two years I've been focusing all my efforts and neuronal juice to
Advanced Shielding Technologies.

Though I'm not an engineer, I studied three years Electronics Engineering
but left it. I used to fail on Physics... and used to hate it too. Anyway,
I've learnt mucho more physic laws, strange effects working on EMC than when
I studied. And I really like this all right now.

Advanced Shielding Technologies and you all have taught me some very
interesting things which I have enjoyed a lot (though some times my inbox
spilled over the brim).

I just want to inform you all I'm leaving this engineering/sorcerer world,
where sometimes equations are not useful and experience and common sense is
what works.

Thank you very much.

May the (magnetic) force be with you ;-)

MIL STD for 19" enclosures

2000-06-20 Thread David Monreal

Hi!

First of all, thank you for the virus advise. Heh... I was about to open it
when I saw your warning message. Thank you.

Besides, I would like to know which are the MIL standards for 19" shielded
enclosures. I'd also like to know if any MIL STD talks about seismic pads
for those enclosures.

TIA

Best regards,

Dear answerers,

thanks for your kind help.

The real cases have been VERY useful. If you have more of them, please send
the values to me.

Thanks again.

Radiation levels.

2000-01-11 Thread David Monreal

Hi all!

Could anyone tell me the radiation levels (V/m) generated by broadcast
antennae? (Radio and TV). I also need the radiation levels for any other
emmitig devices, machinery, GSM antennae, power cables, etc. The more
information the better.

Thanks a lot :-)

Shielded enclosures

1999-12-13 Thread David Monreal
Hi all.

Does anybody design (or know who does) shielded enclosures according to the
followings?

i) Magnetic field
14kHz about 50dB
100kHz about 90dB
ii) Electric field
100kHz about 100dB
10MHz about 100dB
iii) Plane Wave
400MHz about 100dB
1GHz about 100dB

In accordance to MIL-STD 461D and 462D.

Thank you.

RE: VIRUS WARNING

1999-12-02 Thread David Monreal
Hello!

I received a mail from an italian sender with an exe on it. I'm not sure it is
a virus... just a programm that makes "funny" things like re-sending messages,
changing the "from" field, etc.

I have not checked the viruses yet, just wanted you to know.

DO NOT OPEN ANY "ZIPPED" EXE.

David

PS: Is that sender from this list?

Hi Folks

This is just to warn you that an automatic reply to my posting last night
on the above subject resulting in me - and possibly others - being sent a
new virus!

The message source address was 'david.cl...@spke.com'

Do not open any self-extracting ZIP messages attached to emails from this
address!!

Luckily it was caught by our corporate firewall, but I then received the
following message from the people administering the firewall. Their message
is given below for your information.

Hi, John.

The mail sent to you has been confirmed as a virus by Sophos. It's known
as
"explorezip-b" By the looks of it, the infection results are similar to
many others - you run what looks like a self-unzipping file, and the pc is
infected, sending the virus to many others - via the local address book,
and
in response to each received mail thereafter.

Enclosure Units.

1999-11-22 Thread David Monreal
Hello,

first of all, thanks for the information you sent to me about the Shielding
Enclosures Standards.

I've been looking through Compaq and IBM web sites and have seen they measure
its enclosures in U's. Have tried to know wich units U is: 4,4cm, 4,7cm, 5cm...
Can't find a concrete figure for U.

Could you please tell me what U is? (Half a disquette, answered a guy in the
customer service).

Even noticed they do not offer major protection against EMF. Do they have it or
I have not searched enough?

Thanks.
