Hi Brian, It is reasonable to state that an IP22 device is not intended for outdoor use or where exposed to water. A much higher IP rating would be required for reliable operation outdoors, and most people who purchase outdoor equipment would not accept a product with only an IP22 rating.

Now, most PC enclosures protect the electronics from occasional exposure to water drops, but it is not designed to be exposed to water drops continuously.
