Anyone can get a list of all email addresses on this forum by simply
requesting it. I doubt that happened in this instance as I never received
the solicitation.

RE: F-Squared Labs

2001-01-09 Thread Matsuda, Ken

Word of caution to about some labs, (not specifically pointing out a lab)

Choosing a test house or a lab to certify a product can me a costly and
timely endeavor. Coming from a previous position at a Regulatory agency, I
would like to first off say "be careful" when choosing a agency to certify
your product within the U.S., for that matter the world. Although a lab may
have NRTL status, they may NOT be accredited for particular standards. In
fact, some NRTLs are only accredited for 2 or 3 standards, and a listing by
them does little if anything if they certify products that are not within
the scope of their accreditation. You can check NRTL accreditations at the
OSHA.gov webpage. I'm sure this may be true with other certifications.
>From my experience, some test agencies may just be a middle man for
submittal to larger NRTLs.

Those opinions expressed in this email are the opinions of the individual,
and not necessarily the company's.

Regards,

Ken Matsuda
