Re: [Emc-users] ferror problem with emc 2.1.0
I was able to reproduce the problem using the configuration file you attached. When I increased the STEPGEN_MAXACCEL (headroom acceleration) to STEPGEN_MAXACCEL = 165.0 I did not see the problem anymore. Please try increasing the STEPGEN_MAXACCEL in all axes, and let us know if this solves your problem. Thank you for your feedback, and I hope I was able to help. Jeff - Take Surveys. Earn Cash. [Emc-users] ferror problem with emc 2.1.0
Hello everybody, I have installed emc 2.1.0 today and make a test using my configuration and a test program that I have written. My configuration and test file is attached to this e-mail. I use halscope setted to 16188 samples at 85.2 KHz to show axis.2.f-error and I have noted that the ferror rapidly exceed 300m and emc2 go in following error state, but when I reset emc2 and reexecute the g-code the ferror never exceed 60m! but if I turn off tkemc and restart it the problem come back. I have found a BUG? Thanks a lot Dino -- La teoria è quando si sa tutto e non funziona niente. La pratica è quando funziona tutto e non si sa il perchè. Re: [Emc-users] Getting Hal prompt back?
If you get the message "realtime already running", then issue: halcmd unload all realtime stop the second command may need a path: /etc/init.d/realtime stop On my system (ubuntu 6.06, emc2.1-sim package, urxvt terminal) closing a terminal window where halrun is running doesn't lead to any problems. Re: [Emc-users] Getting Hal prompt back?
Hello, well, I think there should be a neat method to do that...and experts will tell you it... In the meaning, you could just do like me...start EMC2 and close it. When closing EMC2, it will stop the realtime. bye Manfredi My website: www.m24-pro.com >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Reply-To: "Enhanced Machine Controller (EMC)" > >To: EMC >Subject: [Emc-users] Getting Hal prompt back? >Date: Tue, 13 Feb 2007 11:33:03 -0500 > >Once one gets into hal and then closes the terminal window, then open the >terminal window again upon entering: > >halrun > >a message appears: > >Realtime already running > >but you don't get the hal prompt back. Re: [Emc-users] Getting Hal prompt back?
Hi Jack. I don't know the exact sequence of steps you're doing, but the way to get a "halcmd:" prompt is to run: halcmd -kf halrun is a script that starts realtime, loads a .hal file, and the optionally gives you an interactive halcmd shell. Once you exit from the halcmd that halrun sets up for you, halrun shuts down realtime, and your changes to the HAL are lost. - Steve [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >Once one gets into hal and then closes the terminal window, then open the >terminal window again upon entering: > >halrun > >a message appears: > >Realtime already running > >but you don't get the hal prompt back. [Emc-users] Hal tutorial- restoring hal configuration?
I am in the process of becoming familiar with and learning EMC2. In going through the HAL tutorial I ran into a problem in paragraph 2.3.6 "Restoring the HAL configuration. The implication is to leave the hal environment (as shown in the prompt) so before issuing the halcmd command I issued an exit command first and then: halcmd -f saved.hal I get: RTAPI: ERROR: could not open shared memory (errno=2) HAL: ERROR: rtapi failed halcmd: hal_init() failed: -9 NOTE: 'rtapi' kernal module must be loaded This makes sense because in the beginning of the tutorial it addresses the need for a RTAPI environment. So I thought I understood the error message I got, therefore I entered: halrun Then entered the command: halcmd -f saved.hal I then got: Unknown command 'halcmd' So there apparently is an error in the tutorial. How can I successfully restore the Hal configuration? Jack Ensor - Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
