Re: [Emc-users] Muti Backplot?

2008-07-05 Thread Alex Joni
As far as I know not directly.
However, you can open more than one instance of AXIS.. (this is probably a
bit hackish, and might cause tiny problems with operations - small lags &
the like).
(look at the emc runscript how it invokes axis, and do the same from another
terminal. IIRC you need to be in the config dir, and run /path/to/axis -ini
./inifile.ini).

Alex

You also need to set an environment variable called AXIS_NO_HAL, or AXIS
won't start because there's already a component called axisui:
export AXIS_NO_HAL=1
axis -ini /path/to/inifile

[Emc-users] Thanks and help with post processor

2008-07-05 Thread aaron Moore
Hi All

This is a thank you to everyone out there who has helped over the last few
months to get my little stepper powered router going. I
am finally getting some useful stuff done now, and I can do pretty much
everything within LinuxBrilliant.

I have however acquired some rather good windows software, but its long list of
post processors does not include EMC (shame). Is
there a generic/popular alternative that will work?

Thanks again

Aaron

I am using CamBam and it's output seems to work fine with EMC2.

fanuc and/or mazak post processors seem to work ok for me, some of them
require a bit of tweaking...

[Emc-users] Lead screw comp

2008-07-05 Thread Stuart Stevenson
Gentlemen,
Wish list addition. It would be nice to have a gui function to help
collect the comp data. It would allow me to moe the axis to the first
column position and then move to the corrected position and hit a
button to store the second and third column positions. :)
Thanks
Stuart
