[Emc-users] New to Me Lathe Technology

2010-02-03 Thread Kirk Wallace
It seems this news is at least a year old, but I thought it was pretty
interesting:

http://www.ctemag.com/pdf/2008/0812-Spinning.pdf
http://www.ctemag.com/pdf/2008/

It feels like one of those Why didn't I think of that moments.

Two of us Kirk. Jolly good idea in fact.

[Emc-users] home made spindle-Motor?

2010-02-03 Thread a
Hi
The best source for ER collets and custom build collets holders is
http://www.hardingeus.com/usr/pdf/collet/2351E%28LR%29.pdf
Hardinge can make custom type holders and it is important for any one that
does not have lathe, machine tool etc.
Now I need to find motor for spindle. What motor will be more suitable for
spindle? I know it will be single phase and 110 V. Max tool diameters 1”.
RPM on tool about 3000-5000.
Thanks
aram

[Emc-users] New Gcode exporting plug-in for Inkscape

2010-02-03 Thread Nick
I've remade Inkscape's Expot to Gcode plug-in.

Now it converts any path/paths to Gcode using biarc interpolation (G02 and G03
codes) so you can get smooth contours without rebuilding the path.

Also a some new features are included:
* header / footer
* some area processing functions
* multi pass cutting
* resulting Gcode provides adjustments of scale and offset
Old features are saved.

You can find info about this plug-in here:

Some info here linuxcnc wiki:
