Re: [Emc-users] Code of Conduct

Little saddened at the backlash to this. Its a generic CoC, that many open
source projects use. It's not much different than a generic GPL open-source
projects use.

Engineers and Blue collar have a bad enough reputation for being not so nice to
outsiders. The backlash to this definitely reinforces this.

I might still make the odd pull request but this mailing list, I'm out.

Andy,

It all depends on how that Constitution is forged. Ours was beat to death
in Philadelphia before there was enough agreement from all involved, then
it was sent on to the States for ratification. The States didn't all agree
and that's what got the Bill of Rights added to it.

It wasn't a document that was written and forced on an unwilling population
with no representation. That's probably the biggest difference between the
USA's Constitution and many others in the world.

The CoC probably would have better accepted if our input had been taken
before it was dumped on us.

Mark

Good morning All,

Please note the point is to be kind to people regardless of who they are. There
is someone on the other side of the email.

Do you care to point out this..oh hang on I did call someone not
involved in the project a blight and a bully.

The current Code of Conduct is being pushed by those with agendas
outside of OSS Projects. I have heard these agendas referred to as
"Social Engineering".

It is agendas like these that led to a Political Party in Australia
wanting to prosecute doctors for what is best practice regarding Gender
Dysphoria. Up until that time I had been a supporter or this particular
party, but when I read of their policy to do that to Doctors when doing
their job and providing best care I was disgusted.

"Misgendering" someone, which the list of genders seems to get bigger
every day, is a crime in some places.

Then you get people like this;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Yaniv who hides behind being trans
to be a social pest. And in effect making life hard for those that are
truly suffering.

It seems the Freenode IRC future is in question. Does this affect the Linuxcnc
IRC?
