Ubuntu is distributed over the Internet as CD image files, called ISOs.
To install Ubuntu, you first need to burn its ISO file onto a CD. You
need a working CD/DVD burner and an 80 minute (700 Mb) CD for this. This
page explains how you can do it using Windows, Mac OS X, Ubuntu and
Kubuntu. If the CD writing fails, try writing at a slower burn speed.
The CDIntegrityCheck page describes how to verify the integrity of the
finished disk. If your finished disk fails to boot when you restart your
computer, please refer to the BootFromCD page.

[Emc-users] EMC Live-CD - how to burn ?

2007-06-11 Thread Mario Rada
Is there anywhere a description of how to burn the EMC Live CD ?
 - bootable ? what boot image ?
 - iso image as is, or the unzipped files ?

The MD5 of the downloaded iso file is as posted on the website.
Windows treats that file as a WinRAR archive.
Whatever parameters I use to burn it, it just won't boot !! (while the W2K CD
does)

thanks
