Re: [Emc-users] Live Config

2012-05-04 Thread doug
Has anyone looked at this?? I am getting no responses. Please let me
know if you can help. Let me know if you do not understand my question.

This is hard to explain without looking at the screen. IF you choose
to machine config in EMC 2.6 you are able to change and test the axis
values while EMC is open. My Y axis is missing the input box to change
the resolution. I would like to find out how to add and remove the
input boxes for this area.

With some screenshots it would be easier to understand.

Let me know if you do not understand my question.

Please, do not get me wrong, no offence, but the information provided
is so scarce that there is nothing much to understand. :)

It would be very nice, if You could explain, what exactly are You
trying to do and what exactly is that You cannot achieve.

All that I (speaking only for myself here) understand is that You are
trying to configure Your machine and place to specify some values for
Y axis is missing. What, where and how is total mystey...

You mention that You have version 2.6, which is unreleased master
branch, in which the development takes place. So is there any
particular reason not to use released versions? Latest is 2.5.0

It is not clear, how exactly are You trying to configure Your machine:
1) are You using stepconf wizard?
2) are You using pncconf?
3) are You adjusting some of existing sample configs?

You mention that You are trying to adjust something, when LinuxCNC
application is running. The only thing to adjust that way is servo
feedback loop calibration, which, based on Your first email, does not
seem the thing You are trying to do.

I would suggest:
1) explaining in more detail, what exactly machine You have. Do not be
afraid to share technical details like name and model of specific
hardware
2) explaining in more detail, what exactly is wrong and where exactly
You encounter the problem. Taking screenshots, publishing them
somewhere (use sites such as www.picpaste.com, www.pastebin.com etc)
and pasting the link here (attachments are not welcome on the mailing
list due to variety of reasons) so that anyone can see.

Hi Doug

I think you are talking of 'calibration' selected under the machine heading
in AXIS?

Calibration calls a program that scans the HAL file.
If you add a space before the setp eg:
  setp hm2_5i20.0.stepgen.02.maxaccel 2.5

Calibration will ignore the line and it will not show the box.
Next time a little more detail of how you got to the problem will help
us help you. And I hope this was what you are talking of :)

I hope this helps.
