[Emc-users] Meldas TRS-50 servo amps, Mazak VQC 15/40

2022-06-16 Thread Sebastian Kuzminsky
I'm working with Petter Reinholdtsen trying to convert his Mazak VQC 15/40 to
LinuxCNC, with Mesa interface hardware. We have all the 24V stuff working,
including the hydraulics and pneumatics, and we're getting data from the
secondary resolvers on the ballscrews. But we're having trouble getting the
servo amps to respond.

Has anyone interfaced Meldas TRS-50 servo amps to LinuxCNC? The maintenance
manual we found was not much help in terms of the interface...

i have never seen those ancient amps in person, but, imho, the
maintenance manual gives enough clues to get it running. and i see some
legacy from it in modern mitsubishi servos...
have you got READY-ON (RA1 relay should light up) and SERVO-ON (RA2 relay)
signals asserted?
i'm not sure, but it looks like you can set a speed command voltage with
the VR1 pot when the ST1 switch is flipped.

have you figured out the ZP1 pinout?
19,20 ER - despite the name looks like an analog voltage speed command
input to me...
3,10 ERR - analog ground
1 SC - speed control? input? not sure, if it's an input (analog or digital)
or an output...
7 ALM - alarm output
18 READY - either rdy-on input or output
13 SVON - should be servo on input
16 +24V (input?)
17 RG (digital ground?)
