Re: [Emc-users] sevomotor -encoder

2014-12-13 Thread a k
Hi
talk many times to servodynamics tech support and they said that
servodynamics makes ac servomotor and motor drive they buy from lenze.
i have 3 identical drive that i bought from servodinamics and 2 of them
have paper stiker - say - lenze and one mark -servodynamic.

 interesting question

servomotor that i have lenze/servodinamics- can close they loop by them
self.
for that reason that drive ask for these signals -from encoder
a
a-
b
b-
u
u-
v
v-
w
w-
5vdc
gnd
/
but i do not need to drive close the loop!!!
because linuxcnc will close the loop.

/
if this right then can i use
http://www.anaheimautomation.com/products/ac/ac-drivers-controllers.php?tID=1176&pt=t&cID=385

for the motor drive and send these signals
a
a-
b
b-
u
u-
v
v-
w
w-
5vdc
gnd
directly to emc2-linuxcnc ?

the reason is that this drives cost 3 times less then drives that capable
close the look -- function that i do not need.

Re: [Emc-users] sevomotor -encoder

2014-12-12 Thread Todd Zuercher
Oops, sorry, I have the teknic motor connected to a teknic drive. It seams to
be a fairly ordinary bldc servo motor with incremental encoder. I don't know
anything about your servodynamics drive. The biggest question is if the hall
sensor pattern will be correct for your drive. If your drive is flexible about
hall pattern options. Then I see no reason it shouldn't work for you. Be sure
to order it with the right encoder for your setup, they can have either single
ended or differential encoders. Who are you buying it through? I bought the
last one I needed from Bearing Engineers, Inc. (which now seems to be called
Motion Solutions) They were very knowledgeable and helpful with choosing the
right motor to replace a discontinued model (pointed me to a better motor for
our application rather than just a direct replacement). They even gave me good
base line tuning settings for our new motor and old drive combination.

Hi.
You said :

> this encoder signals go into lenze motor drive sd 94

but , as I told you , SD94 is not Lenze (is Servo Dinamics) .
So If you have a Lenze can you detail the model/product code so people that
want to help can search for information to support you.

Hi Aram.
SD94 seems to be the product code for Servo Dinamics Servo Drive as this
<http://www.ebay.com/itm/Servo-Dynamics-SD94-S100Y2N-000XX1A10-Driver-23IG93SA-2048-Motor-Cables-2-Sets-/110778319162>
.
Why are you talking about Lenze ?

Yes, I have some of their drives and motors on some of our machines at work.
They seem to work fine. You'll need windows to run their tuning software, and
you will probably need an o-scope as well, if you don't bring the encoder
feedback into LinuxCNC.
