Re: 20th Birthday Logo | Feedback needed

2017-07-05 Thread Kate Lassalle-Klein
Thanks for the messages! I've gotten the most positive feedback so far for
geometric triangles. I can make a more refined version of this, if that's
what we're feeling is a good direction.

Does anyone else have any input? I'd like to get this finalized soon :-)

Re: 20th Birthday Logo | Feedback needed

2017-06-28 Thread So_Yeon Jeong
I'm a fan of the first two (the birthday graphic and 20years) because of
the flatness, as others have already noted. However, I'm not a fan of the
font in the "20 years strong". It feels unrelated to the general style
guide. And the balloons coming off the y in the first graphic seems a
little forced in practice though the idea is clever.

I'd be happy to help iterate new versions and be involved if there was a
conversation on how to move forward.

Good point. I'll see if she can join #engagement!

Would you want to do a call as well, Allan? Eh, eh? :) So far nobody has
offered to lead a high level chat, and I don't feel qualified to hold one on my
own... though I'd be interested in listening in to what will be discussed.

In the meantime, I'll relay the feedback we have so far. ___

Or, any new ideas to explore?

Some of the concepts there have real promise and a playful take on the
number 20 seems like it could be a good direction to go in. I'm sure
there are other concepts we could come up with, if we were to have a
more high-level discussion.

I think we want to aim for graphics that are more geometric and
regularly aligned than what you've shared so far.

It's difficult to have a meaningful design discussion on a mailing
list, through an intermediary...

I agree. I've asked for some flat versions.

Besides that, is there any version in there you like best so we can explore
other iterations of it?

Or, any new ideas to explore?

My 2 cents: I don't like the 2 dropping a shadow on the 0 in any of these,
it feels oldfashioned. Better to stay flat.
