That's a bug indeed. It's correct that you cannot hide the "name" column, but it's obviously wrong that this is the only column to resize automatically when you change the window size. But you can still adjust the column size by dragging the column splitter, right? If I click in the top right corner to make the window smaller (the button between the x for closing and _ for minimizing) the window gets smaller but the column that contains the user names (and e-mail addresses) is gone. By sorting by user-id it would be possible to get a faster overview who of my known keys also signed this key.
