we should have vests, long tailed jackets, nice pants and leather shows, top

Yep, and no one makes polo necks instead. I have way too many

2016-04-11 Thread Andrew Williams
Oops, it's been a month here and I don't know where we got to...

Since I offered there's been something of a debate about logistics and no
willing designers that I know of.
I've now booked my tickets as hand luggage only so carrying them will
require me booking in luggage which of course I'd be happy to avoid the
cost of :)

Any other noble volunteers to take this on?

can you look for something maybe in london? if you take the eurostar to paris
then it's largely irrelevant - the extra weight wont matter.

That would also be a good alternative.

Its not Asia here. We are not getting all the things super cheap. ;)

More seriously, I'm happy either way. I would see 20€ as upper limit. If
we get some quality shirts for less I'm all in.
I just would try to avoid to cheap offerings. For example the grey shirt
handed out at the EFL seminar during SOSCON did not even survive one
washing. The logo was peeling of directly.

Who knows if he is not on a flight to Europe or Asia right now. With
Cedric you never know. :)

I was mostly referring to the other things we handle for EDDs. Would be
great if the shirt things was handled by someone else. If we have enough
interest. Andy already offered his logistic help. We basically miss a
design I would think.

Depends :)

If could help to split the work. The designer could focus on the logo
and you would handle the dealing with the printing shop. This might help
us to find someone actually doing the design because it is less work
involved. :)

You would put the shirts into your check in luggage for the flight I
guess. Judging from previous years I would expect 15-30 people to attend.

2016-03-04 Thread Andrew Williams
Hi,

There's a good printing shop in Edinburgh that I can collect from which is
probably better than delivery depending on numbers.
Unfortunately I'm no designer so I can't do much more than the logistics.

Useful or not?

[E-devel] T-shirt for the upcoming 2016 EDDs

2016-03-02 Thread Stefan Schmidt
Hello.

At our initial Enlightenment Developer Day in Barcelona 2012 we had some
T-shirts for the event.
We failed since to do this again which is a bit sad. Luckily we have a
bit more time in advance for the 2016 edition this year and I wonder if
someone wants to pick this up.

o We would need a new design (maybe a contest if we have some more
proposals)
o We would need to query the sizes from attendees
o We would need to get the shirts printed and shipped to some place in
Paris (or someone needs to arrange getting them there)

Money wise I think we can ask the foundation to pay for them upfront and
we cash the money in at the event. Say 15-20€ per shirt?

Does this sounds like a good idea? Anyone picking this up? Unlikely
Cedric or myself will be able to handle this.

regards
Stefan Schmidt
