i noticed some topic about it, and several cvs commit. is it ok now? or how to 
enable it or test it?

it works - but the bitmap fonts get scaled as well so you'll notice they get 
blurry as there is no hinting when scaling bitmaps :) basically for things like 
chinese you might want larger font sizes anyway. i am thinking about an idea of 
language packs that are small config files that specify a set of fonts, font 
sizes (by default - can be changed) and locale settings for each supported 
language. these packs maybe would include the .p and compiled .mo files and 
install them and then ask e to change language, font etc. via some shared tool 
that loads the language pack data and installs the language pack files.
