[e-users] Probs compiling E

hi!

I have some Problems compiling E using easy_efl.sh. The script is
babbling something about my videocardsettings. Heres the last output:

I'm not 100% sure what the problem is, but I'm 100% sure that your
video card is not it.

For some reason your Ecore seems to be outdated, which shouldn't happen
in easy_efl.sh when building single-tree EFL.
So most likely you have some old version installed on your system which
messes up the build.
Look in /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib for old ecore/efl versions and
remove them, if these do not exist, try removing /opt/efl and
rebuilding from scratch.

Other than that, there used to be a buildsystem bug, which has been
fixed and therefore should not apply for a new build:
https://git.enlightenment.org/core/efl.git/commit/?id=a9c0a6c30b293e86c8b5538ed8bada20ffa3737e

This of course only applies to the problem I can see in the log you
included in your mail, I can't say there aren't other problems.
I can't see any problems about videocard settings here.

[e-users] A small issue with terminology

2014-06-07 Thread Morten Nilsen
Hello!

I've finally returned to using linux on my desktop computer, and I
really have missed it!
So I decided to go with Fedora this time around - last time I was using
Trustix ^_^

Anyway, I've run into a slight annoyance with terminology and long
command lines..
When I open up a fresh terminal window and start typing, this happens:

http://imgur.com/V4hlRGf

I've not resized the window or anything.
If I run sudo su - to become root, the issue goes away.

Anyone know where I should start looking to resolve this?

Turns out this was slightly off.. it still happens if I sudo, not sure
what made it stop before..
When I resize the window, it still happens, but at a different point -
maybe 50% of the window width.

Could be a terminal type issue. What is your TERM env set to? What happens

It is presently set as xterm.
Same behaviour if I change it to xterm-color.
Also the same with linux

Griaß di,

thanks, the problem was exactly what you thought: It was the old version
in /opt/. After renaming the folder E compiled without any problems.
Okay, except 3 modules I dont care for.

Re: [e-users] A small issue with terminology

2014-06-07 Thread meine

Anyway, I've run into a slight annoyance with terminology and long
 command lines..

I first encountered this using Final Term terminal -- mixing up the input. my
experience is that the terminal you most frequently use shows things as ment.

have no solution though as to use one terminal for main use.

BTW, Fedora questions can also be posted ar www.fedoraforums.org

[e-users] Problem when compiling EFL from git

2014-06-07 Thread Wido
Hello all,

I just downloaded a fresh update from git and I'm hitting this error:

make all-recursive
  CCLD bin/ethumb_client/ethumbd_client
  CCLD bin/ethumb_client/ethumbd
  CCLD bin/ethumb/ethumb
lib/edje/.libs/libedje.so: undefined reference to
`ecore_audio_in_tone_class_get'
lib/edje/.libs/libedje.so: undefined reference to
`ecore_audio_out_pulse_class_get'
lib/edje/.libs/libedje.so: undefined reference to
`ecore_audio_in_sndfile_class_get'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Makefile:16833: recipe for target 'bin/ethumb_client/ethumbd_client' failed
make[4]: *** [bin/ethumb_client/ethumbd_client] Error 1

A couple months ago I had a similar error and it was because of my
LD_LIBRARY_PATH pointing to my current install. But not this time, I'm
using a different path (and I've checked it using strace).

Use a single terminal? That's like unpossible! :p

Anyway, thanks for the input on my issue.
I managed to narrow it down to a bad PS1 value, and have now fixed the
offending scriptlet - it was using ANSI sequences without \[\]
Same as was reported here:

Well, edje does not use ecore_audio this way, so it is a library from
the system that is taken for linking edje. I will look later at it if
I find anything suspicious in the Makefile.am, but it sounds like you
are overwriting the linking somehow.

Thanks!

[e-users] Windows parity question

2014-06-07 Thread Morten Nilsen
Hello again ^_^

There is one feature of windows that I miss;
The behaviour where you drag a window to the top screen edge to maximize
and drag a maximized window with some resistance to unmaximize.

Is it possible to set E up to do the same?

nope. to be honest... i'd find that feature insanely annoying. no code in e to
do this at all - even optionally.

you can always assign a keyboard shotcut for that. I have 'alt+x' for
maximise|unmaximise and I've found it quite confortable
