Can you mount at all with efm/enlightenment, or just not automount things?
A while ago in e17 days I had this file mode and also couldn't mount
anything. If you don't have it, try installing udisks (might need to
rebuild enlightenment, not sure). If that doesn't work, try adding
--enable-mount-eeze at configure time

udisks not installed.. Hm what is preferred way - mount via udisks or via eeze?

Why not both?

I think eeze is still experimental while udisk works complete (be careful,
udisk works but udisk2 doesn't!)

$ sudo pkill -f "X -ac :1"

that should find the correct x instance.

$ sudo pkill -n X

may also work, but ymmv.

On Debian-based systems, pkill and pgrep are found in the 'procps'
package.

I use udisks-2.1.3 and it works fine here with e-0.18.8

It mounts USB sticks under /run/media/$USER

[e-users] mount error: Unable to mount with specified time out

2014-06-17 Thread Will Hopper
 Hi everyone,

I'm getting the following error trying to mount usb's through EFM (18.8):

" org.freedesktop.fm2.MountTimeout
Unable to mount the volume with specified time out"

'file mode' is udisks2, with udisks2 version 2.1.3. I've seen this issue on
the mailing list in the past, and the issue seemed to be related to udisks
permissions. However, the resolution was a bit non descript, and involved
'nuking udisks and now everything is working fine'.

Not sure how to go about following this advice? Any hints on where to find
the file where this "org.freedesktop.fm2.MountTimeout" rule is
implemented, and how to set the permission correctly so i can mount USBs?

- Will

Re: [e-users] no icons for applications

2014-06-17 Thread Bert De Ketelaere

Helo again,

Installing an icontheme to ~/.icons did work. I noticed that of the 6 themes
that I installed only 2 showed up in setting panel>look>application
theme>icons. For the ones that didn't list the index.theme file listed
directories that were not in the theme.
Something similar is apparently the case for the index.theme file of hicolor.
Still the hicolor fallback option (for apps that only have their icon in
hicolor) is not working.

Thanks for the help,
Bert
