 Or if you built from source, running 'make uninstall' in each
 library/application does the proper removal of items.

Yes, but it works for sure only with the same sources used at installa
time, because it knows where it installs things and so it just does the
exact opposite that it did at install time.
Doing it via an autodetect system, as Pierre seems to ask, would be not
that accurate because there is no way for a script to know how packages
where installed, if it was done via a package manager or with some
strange prefixes and options.

[e-users] Adding application to favorites fails

2015-01-25 Thread Petter Adsen
Hi, all.

This is odd. When I try to add VMware Workstation, Player or Virtual
Network Editor to the Favorite Applications menu, it doesn't take. I
select the app from the list, press OK or Apply, and close the window.
When I reopen the window (or restart E, then reopen), it's no longer
selected. This *only* happens with the VMware apps. I've had a look at
the .desktop files and see nothing unusual:

root@fenris:~# cat /usr/share/applications/vmware-workstation.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=VMware Workstation
Comment=Run and manage virtual machines
Exec=/usr/bin/vmware %U
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Icon=vmware-workstation
StartupNotify=true
Categories=System;
MimeType=application/x-vmware-vm;application/x-vmware-team;application/x-vmware-enc-vm;x-scheme-handler/vmrc;

Any ideas?

Petter
