Re: [e-users] e failing to build after maverick update... thoughts?
Hi, I just have this problem few days ago. Please, clean and uninstall all your previous e17 packages, and it should be ok. Cheers, Mysth-R 2010/11/4 Carsten Haitzler ras...@rasterman.com On Wed, 3 Nov 2010 19:01:08 -0500 Jackson jack...@objectivelytrue.com said: oh sorry - missed the easy_e.sh (it's easy_e17.sh from memory tho). anyway... do u have old efl headers lying around from a previous install? if so - nuke them. Yes all the e libs are coming from svn via the easy-e17 script. Everything else is Ubuntu repositories. It is possible that the upgrade is a red herring, but I had successfully compiled e17 from svn (easy script again) less than a week before upgrade and have not been able to recompile it since. Again recompiling an installing of all other efl packages worked fine. Re: [e-users] Problem with window positioning from systray
Hi, I also have this problem with gvim, goggles music manager, and many other apps. It's a bit annoying, you always have to move up the windows Cheers, Mysth-R 2010/5/31 Karl Sinn n...@budostore.de Hi, AFAIK no. Apparently the fault lies on the KWin side of things, so it isn't likely to get fixed any time soon. E's implementation of the window stuff is the correct one from what I have heard. to bad, this is really annoying, maybe there's a possibility to write a patch, or to oblige this window to always open at the same place? All the tries i did with the window settings unfortunately failed. Re: [e-users] [e17] Application focus (especially the flashplayer)
Hi, Yes the same here, exactly the same problem as Arno. Cheers, Mysth-R 2010/4/26 Arno Schuring aelschur...@hotmail.com Hi all, Since I use e17, I frequently have problems with the focus of applications, and particularly the flashplayer. When I go on youtube (with firefox/opera/uzbl), there are 50% of chances that the flash video player doesn't get the focus when I click on it... I have focus-follows-mouse, so it's not exactly the same but I'm also having focus problems. The only one I've been able to reproduce reliably is with popup windows (modal dialogs): If a modal dialog closes while the mouse is not over it (either because it closes itself or I press a key), NO application gets focus. I have to either use alt-tab or move the mouse to exit and re-enter the application to restore focus. I have this regularly with firefox and exfalso, which are both GTK apps so I'm not sure that this is really an E problem. My second issue is with focus-stealing: even when my mouse is over another application (and I'm typing in it), a new window will still be able to take focus. So far, I haven't been able to find a setting to disable that behaviour. Re: [e-users] Some constructive criticism
Hi 2010/4/16 Terminus Est richterlevan...@gmail.com Hi there, About a week ago I tried e17 one more time. It's becoming more beautiful, but I still can't keep it as my sole WM. Why? I will answer: 1) There is not a login manager I use slim : very light and fast 2) There is not a file manager I use pcmanfm. In fact the integrated file browser in e17 seems to be very light but I need to access files through samba, and it does not work. 3) There is not a terminal emulator Roxterm is very similar to Konsole and lighter. 4) There is not a music player Goggle Music Manager is the faster. it is based on Fox libraries. You can also use MPD with ario + mpdule (the e17 control module). Have a nice day Cheers, Mysth-R -- Download Intel#174; Parallel Studio Eval Try the new software tools for yourself.
